When one Detective Ian Chesterton helps an old ex-flame, a nightclub owner named Barbara Wright, to find information about the disappearance of her sister, they end up with more than they ever bargained for. Caught in the crossfire of a bloody and long-standing mobster families feud, the pair must join in a shaky alliance with John “The Doctor” Smith and his granddaughter Susan, if any of them want to make it out alive.
Susan, being the next in line to the head of their gangster family, “The Whos”, has made her a target among the other crime bosses and she must be protected by all means, but what is The Doctor hiding from them by doing this? And just how far is he willing to go to ensue her safety?
The group’s floundering trust is put to the test when clues are uncovered for Barbara’s sister’s disappearance, and that The Doctor and Susan might be responsible for it.
Questions arise, tempers flare, passions ignite, and deeply buried pasts are all brought to the light.
Will this group of unlikely people be able to put aside their differences and history to save themselves? Or will their conflicting characters prove too great and be their demise?
